Emergencies – Psychosocial Support IFRC

 

The Reference Center for Psychosocial Support (AP Center) operates within the framework of the Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) and supports national societies in promoting the psychosocial well-being of beneficiaries, volunteers and employees. of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

The aim of the AP Center is to assist the national societies of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement to:

  • Raise awareness about emotional reactions to a crisis, a natural disaster or in situations of adversity
  • Establish and strengthen psychosocial support preparedness and response mechanisms at the global, regional and local levels
  • Promote the resilience and psychosocial recovery of individuals and communities
  • Promote the use of community support networks and restore coping mechanisms
  • Improve emotional assistance to employees and volunteers of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
  • Facilitate psychosocial support before, during and after natural disasters
